First Day of first grade, Aug 21, 2012

Elli with her packed bookbag and lunch.
I cannot believe my baby girl is big enough for first grade.
She wanted her daddy to carry her.  Glad she is still small enough to want to be carried.
Elli at her desk.  Ethan is next to her and Molly across from her.
Bullet points of her day:
-The boys all have "drifty" eyes
-My teacher (Mrs. MaHaffey) doesn't use folders the right way, we have to use them to hide our work not to put our papers in
-At gym class, I had to take my shoes off.  Everyone knows you don't wear tennis shoes on the first day of school!
-We had two recesses.  Everyone was out there except the college students.
-If you do something wrong you fail a rule but you still have to go outside for recess.
-We all got to read one whole page today.  It was easy since it was level 1.

Aug 20, Devin meets Micah

Devin had such a crazy busy summer that he met Micah for the first time last night.

Catching up on preciousness

Love his little eyebrows and how they always show such expressive feelings.  Also love his chunky!
Elli and Lily couldn't get enough of him.
He is so much more smiley these days.  What a sweet boy.
Elli is really into Littlest Pet Shops.  She plays with them all the time.  I love seeing her imagination and hearing the names she comes up with.
Do you see his rolls?  Elli is so cute with him.

Aug 11, 2012 Happy 2 Months Micah

You have grown so much.  You weighed 13 lbs 11 oz at your appt this week and you are 23 1/4 in long.
You have such a serious look about you much of the time like you are studying everything around you.
I cannot believe how strong you are.  Look how you are holding and pushing yourself up here.
That booty is the source of many blow out diapers:)  You don't do anything quietly.
Your smiles are very cute and I see them most right before and right after nursing you.  You also get this little giggle sometimes and you take really short breaths when you are ready to nurse:)
You love bath time!  Just turning on the water will quiet you down and you don't cry at all.
During this last month, you have started sleeping 6 hours each night; we can lay you down awake in your bed and you will go to sleep; you smile a lot more and make a giggling sound; you are getting stronger and bigger by the day; you like to lay in your jungle gym to bat at toys as well as lay on the floor while we show them to you; you follow me more with your eyes and look for me when you hear my voice; and you are simply still the most cuddly baby ever:)
I only posted this because Brent figured out how to attach my shredder to the mixer so I didn't have to shred 5 zucchini by hand.  Thank you Brent!

Friday, August 10, my first day of meetings at school

Brent and I were eating breakfast while Micah was scowling and filling his diaper, which caused me to have to give him a bath and made me late:)
I came home to a visit from Leah and the twins.  Love these boys.
Elli went on a real bike ride with Brent meaning she went riding on her own while Brent rode his bike!  No more crying when we ask her to ride.
Micah has always used his eyebrows.  Love his expressions.
Gonga and Papa came over for dinner and hanging out as well.  Great ending to a bit of a stressful day for me.

Kettering Rec Center, Wed Aug 8

Elli and Madilynn with Madilynn's cousin Bradlee holding Cody.
Sherry and Caleb are up there in line to go down the slides.
This is Sherry's splash:)  Fun day but Micah was not feeling well after his shots so we left after a couple of hours.

A day in the life, Tuesday, Aug 7

Play time with Micah in the morning, watching the Olympics.
Micah napping, Elli practicing piano after doing some Bible, math, and reading.
Eat lunch, feed Micah, get Emilee and head to pool at the club.
Brent joins after leaving work a little early.
Afternoon nap at the pool before eating again and heading home for dinner and bed.

The Wolfs visit!

Elli looks so excited:)  Stephen and Elli are only 4 months apart.
 Eleanor loved holding Micah!
Youngs!  Lauren wanted to visit Youngs and get some ice cream of course:)  The kids wanted to ride the barrels.
 He was the airplane!
Lauren got some good Micah time.
Sadly, our last day together all of the kids were a little on the tired and grumpy side.  We spent lots of time saying, "Be nice!"
However, I loved seeing the Wolfs and hope they are able to come again or even move back:)  Love you guys and loved seeing you all.

Caleb turns 7

The birthday boy and his sunken pirate ship cake.  Due to a fallen, cracked cake, Sherry got to practice her creative skills to pull this off.  Looked great.
 Blowing out the candles.
Presents.  Caleb really likes legos so he got quite a few to play with.  Hours of fun ahead for this sweet boy.

The Many Faces of Micah

Studying the toys on Gloria's exersaucer:)
Wide eyed snuggle bunch with Aunt Leah.
A little scared about what those toys mught do to him:)
Some more first smiles.  8 weeks tomorrow and he even has a little giggle every now and then with this adorable smile.
A wink, a smile, two chins, and a tongue.  So cute!
